Finally  you found that special apartment that you are happy with, your ready to move forward in the process.  Congratulations!


 Get ready to go over the everything thing that the landlord needs. It is seriously important  that your paperwork is lined up, if you worked with a broker/ agent most likely they have prepared you for the process. Every landlord is different and have different requirements, your broker will have this information about what you landlord needs.  So here is a boiler plate example of the check list : 

Rental Apartment Paperwork Checklist

  • Employment letter on company letterhead stating your job title, job functions, salary and length of employment
  • 6 most recent pay stubs
  • 6  most recent bank statements
  • Most recent income tax W2 form or Self Employed Tax returns 2 yrs
  • First page and signature page of most recent federal tax return
  • Student Acceptance Letter If you are a Student
